Since DA sucks and ate my first upload and insists I do it again while simultaneously telling me the deviation exists... here it is again...
[EDIT: 1/14/07]
Ok, time I got off my butt and started busting through this image because Fox Amoore has been very patient and I don't want to keep him waiting any more. Anyway, here's his pic in progress of being digitally inked.
[EDIT: 1/26/07]
At this point, I've finished inking the upper body and started blocking in some of the color. Of course, I so rarely color foxes, it's a bit hard to settle on a good matching color combination. The next step is a bit of refinement and detailing on the pants. Right now it looks like he's wearing a tight pair of sweatpants.
[EDIT: 2/20/07]
I actually redrew his pants several days ago but hadn't gotten around to re-merging them into the image. I finally did that tonight and inked and color blocked them so I could get a better idea of his color balance. Now I need to make sure I'm happy with the positioning of the tail, ink and color block it, then start working on the initial shading and texturing for Fox. After that... it's time to focus on the details for the background. That's one of the joys of doing this in Photoshop... I can work from foreground to back unlike in painting where you have to do the reverse.
[EDIT: 2/26/07]
Started shading in the upper part of his body and added in the color for his shirt and eyes. I'm taking a guess on the eye color because I can't remember ever seeing a reference where he didn't have his sunglasses covering them. There was another fan piece done for him that looked like it had green eyes, so I'm going to hope I've erred on the side of consistency. Still need to work on the tail since I don't want it to look like it's some piece of furry meat hanging off his back side and I also need to finish working on the background itself. Otherwise, I think the pic is coming along fairly well. Of course, the big test will come when I start working on the lighting effects.
[EDIT: 4/9/2007]
Finally found a decent inspiration for a background and started putting that part together and shaded in his legs and feed. Now, all I need to do is re-add his tail back in (hurray for separated layers), the "interior" of the door area and then the desired lighting...!
[EDIT: 4/29/2007]
There... done. Yay! One more project off my plate!
Well I moved it out of scraps and started posting the work-in-progress pics because that way I have a constant reminder in front of me to finish it because Fox has been so patient in waiting for it.
I hate DA's new system.. wasn't keen on the old system but it wasn't frustrating like the new system.. Ironicly DA is the only gallery where Someone hasn't been trying to pretend they are me.. I don't even update elfwood anymore.. too much art theft occurs there..
Pic looks aweseom BTW. Never could get that lika pose to come off well.

So far as I'm aware, I've yet to be the victim of an art thief. Not quite sure how I'd handle it. Somehow, I think bloodshed would be involved... possibly the evocation of various dark and sundry powers. Ah well, that's mostly why I tend to cycle things off my gallery.
